Can I stop in to day dig?

All guest must book a reservation ahead. No walk ins.

Are you pet friendly?

At this time we are allowing service animals only.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations are 7 days before the scheduled date to receive a full refund. If cancellations are done in less than 7 days, there is no refund but a credit to book another visit will be issued. If a bad weather forecast warrants a full cancellation decided by the mine owners only, your choice of a full refund or credit to rebook will be issued.

Am I guaranteed to find crystals?

Finding crystals is never guaranteed but given the prevalence of Herkimer Diamonds on the property, it is extremely unlikely that you will go home empty handed.

What happens if there’s bad weather?

We dig rain or shine! Weather cancellations are only called by the mine owners in the event of extreme weather. If this happens, you will have the opportunity to rebook your visit or choose to receive a refund.

Do you offer group discounts?

While we book groups along with other quests, we do not offer group discounts. It is $100 a day for adults, $50 a day for ages 8-15 and free for guest 7 years old & under. Ages 15 and under are required to have adult supervision.

Can I book the mine out for a private group trip?

Yes, we offer private digs for any group with a minimum of 15 people. Ask us about a date you have in mind to schedule the mine to be opened exclusively for your group or event. We also can book groups that join in with dates open to other guests.

Am I allowed to camp?

Camping is available by permission only

Do you Offer Machine Digs?

We will be offering machine digs in the future. Stay tuned for further updates!

Can I bring power tools?

No power tools at this time

What time can I dig until?

At this time, digging hours are 9 to 6 or a half hour before dusk in the fall.

What kind of facilities are on site?

We are new and growing with future plans! At this time we have a Porta Potty available for all guests. Currently there is no running water or power.

What kind of tools should I bring?

Take a look at our “What to bring page”. The basic suggestions are a bucket, 2 or 3 lb hammer, chisels/wedges, small shovel, small hand rake, crow bar and long screw driver. The tools you require vary based on the zone you are in and what style of mining you are doing. Knee pads are also recommended. Newspaper wrap and baggies are suggested to wrap your precious finds. If you don’t have tools we have a couple bars and buckets with a chisel, 2 or 3 lb hammer, garden trowel, rake, screwdriver and complimentary eye protection glasses for rent. Ask us about rentals as its best to reserve ahead.
