“Herkimer Mountain is located on 50 beautiful acres in Fonda, New York. The property, which boasts spectacular views of the Mohawk River Valley, is covered in forests and surrounded by thousands of acres, providing those who visit total privacy in a wilderness environment. We are nevertheless conveniently located 15 minutes from exit 28 on the New York Thruway and a short drive to a variety of restaurants, hotels and shopping and area attractions”.

We have multiple designated areas on the property that feature the opportunity to dig for all varieties of crystals including classic gemmy herkimer diamonds, skeletals, drusy plates and scepters. Having a variety of digging styles adds to the adventure and allows visitors to utilize different techniques to uncover beautiful crystals. Whether you want to do some hard rock mining, dig in the alluvial layer for exposed pockets, or sift through the tailings we have something for everyone!
